February in the Almanzora
The Almanzora has some truly unique qualities... there is no better climate in Europe. The warmest and driest winters with the most hours of sunshine in the whole of Andalucia. In summer it is hot inland but cooler on the coast at Villaricos and at Desert Springs up on the plateau it is cooled by pleasant sea breezes.
In the best climate ln Europe....
The Almanzora climate has some truly unique qualities, there is nowhere else like it on the continent.
- The most sunshine in all Andalucia
- The least rainfall in the whole of Spain
- The warmest and driest winter in all Europe
A true desert climate.
The Almanzora has Europe's only desert climate. The area boasts a year round average of a full nine hours of sunshine a day and a total rainfall of less than seven and a half inches. In winter, the average maximum daily temperature is 19°C (67"f) from October to March.
The light is luminous with brilliant clear sunny days and star-filled night skies. So much so that Europe's only solar power station is located here, as well as one of Europe's most important space observatories.
It is, without exception, the warmest and driest place to be in Europe in the winter. In summer, it is hot and dry inland but cooler down on the coast at Villaricos, whilst Desert Springs, up on the plateau above the Almanzora, is cooled by pleasant sea breezes.
